From Beth Joy Photography:

This inspiration shoot was dreamed up by myself and my dear friend Richelle of Pots Floral. We were thrilled to bring our vision to life with this relaxed, bohemian styled shoot. We came up with the idea together after realizing that there was little boho-chic wedding inspiration out there for our local midwest brides (of Detroit)! After much dreaming and scheming, we came up with this unique inspiration shoot. We went for a natural, slightly gypsy style with a color scheme of merlot, gold, blush, and lots of greenery. We imagined a small wedding or elopement where a bride and groom felt free to eat, drink, and be merry in the comfort of the midwest countryside. This look is perfect for a bride who wants a backyard bash, both wild and rustic but also contrasted with some luxe details.

The details are really what make this shoot stand out! The florist chose to create a one-of-a-kind bouquet – filled with peonies, cabbage roses, protea, even an artichoke! The shoot also featured a DIY pallet table where brides and grooms can relax in the sun, sip wine, and nibble on delicious treats. There’s a teepee complete with ethereal drapery and vintage rugs for cozy snuggling in the evening, and a tree swing made for a backyard bash!

The bride and groom are a real couple in love, and like many brides, she chose to wear two dresses on her day! Why only wear one! The second gown is a true vintage gown (from The Brides Project – an amazing organization/bridal boutique that donates 100% of their proceeds to the Cancer Support Center in Ann Arbor.)

Each detail of the shoot was handcrafted by artisans in our local area as well as across the country. This includes the hand-painted plates and hand-designed paper for the tablescape, a rough edge invitation suite designed to match the hand-designed paper and blush tones to accent the flowers and tablescape. Chic calligraphy, handmade jewels, a fruit covered cake, as well as incredible handcrafted dream-catchers provide extra touches of luxe romance and bohemian whimsy.

We hope that this shoot will provide brides a chance to see a new perspective into a “bohemian-style” intimate wedding, especially for those living in places where deserts and beaches are replaced with meadows and forests!
